ITunes was designed and marketed by Apple Inc. and is designed in such a way so as to allow the user to manage files like audio and video files on a computer. It is a digital media player that is used for various purposes like playing or organizing digital music as well as video files. It is also used for transferring data to and from an iPhone, iPod, etc to a personal computer. But sometimes one may encounter an error like the iTunes error 69 sync and an error message like the following:

“Attempting to copy to the disk failed. An unknown error occurred (-69)”

The iTunes error 69 is encountered when you try to sync some files to your iPhone on the Mac or the Windows computer. When any of the files that you are transferring has any problems then the error is encountered.

To fix iTunes error 69 you need to follow the steps given below after making sure that you are using the latest version of iTunes.

  • Launch iTunes and then right click on the iPhone icon in the iTunes source pane.
  • Select Sync Songs.
  • The iPhone starts to update and before the error message appears, the file that is the cause of the error is displayed at the top of the iTunes Window.
  • Now select iPhone in iTunes source pane. Click on the Summary Tab.
  • Select “Sync only checked songs and videos” checkbox.
  • Select appropriate item under the Library and find the file causing the error.
  • Clear the checkbox beside the name of the file.

To prevent the error from occurring in the future, you need to delete the unusable files from the iTunes library and then restore them from the backup.
